About
Andrew Pace is a sports author whose work draws on years inside competitive tennis in France and the U.S. college sports system.
Andrew Pace writes about what happens when sport begins to affect more than performance: confidence, pressure, family relationships, school, money, ambition and the decisions young athletes have to make while they are still learning who they are.
His perspective comes from years inside competitive tennis. He grew up competing in France, spent roughly a decade in the junior competitive environment, reached national-level competition and later entered the U.S. college sports system.
Rather than presenting sport through abstract motivational advice, Pace focuses on the concrete situations athletes and families actually face: pressure before and after competition, rankings, changes of level, difficult decisions, family sacrifice, recruiting, school, money and the point at which ambition begins to reorganize ordinary life.
His books are written primarily from the athlete's side of those experiences. Their common objective is to make the hidden mechanisms around sport visible enough that athletes and families can make better decisions without turning sacrifice, pressure or constant escalation into proof of seriousness.
